Rules regarding artifacts. Slight differences between major and minor artifacts, so read up.
Major Artifacts:
1) Quests to gain an artifact must be run by a moderator or admin, and if you are a moderator, another one must run the quest for you.
2) If you have an artifact, it can be taken from you. If you lose a fight against someone's character, you lose at least one artifact as a result (unless the victor doesn't wish to take it, though if you have one of the 5 Great Evils, there isn't a choice). If you fight unfairly to avoid the loss of it, a mod may intervene and pwn your sorry ass.
3) If you have at least two artifacts, you MUST accept all 'challenges' by other players to try and fight for and take one of them (meaning if somebody pm's you wanting your artifact, you must either make a thread they can join or join a thread they make). There are exceptions to this rule. For instance, if the other person has 5 already, feel free to turn down the challenge. Or if it's the fifth time they've tried (even if it's a different character of theirs) you can also turn it down. Also, if you're in a major plot thread (read; can only be in one thread because the one you're in has plot significance), you don't have to accept a challenge, though if the thread's open they can still join and make an attempt.
4) If accepting a 'challenge' for your artifact (seeing rule above, or if you voluntarily accept a challenge otherwise), the topic is not closed to that one person. Others may join and either defend you, help the challenger, or attempt to take it for themselves. Even a mod may join in and help either side or attempt to hinder both in different ways.
5) Don't whine if an artifact quest is hard. IT'S AN ARTIFACT QUEST. It's meant to challenge your character, since, after all, they're attempting to gain a piece of a god's power.
6) If your quest-maker goes inactive for at least a week with no notice, another mod may take over.
Minor Artifacts:
1) Quests to gain an artifact must be run by a moderator, or have at least 2 other participants and moderator approval. A character may start off with a NEW minor artifact if they submit it to a mod and have it approved beforehand
2) If you have an artifact, it can be taken from you. If you lose a fight, all minor artifacts can be looted from you as a result (So long as the person loots you somehow). Again, a mod may intervene if you attempt to fight unfairly.
3) You don't have to accept challenges for people to take minor artifacts from you, but it's generally good to. Someone can always join an open thread you're in and try that way, but you don't have to stay through the fight, make a dedicated thread, or the like unless you wish to.
4) If accepting a 'challenge' for your artifact (seeing rule above), the topic is not closed to that one person. Others may join and either defend you, help the challenger, or attempt to take it for themselves. Even a mod may join in and help either side or attempt to hinder both in different ways.
5) Minor artifact quests will require good RP skills, but usually won't be of incredible difficulty. If you feel it's too hard, request that the difficulty be toned down a bit. PM another mod if things still go badly.
6) If your quest-maker (or other participants) goes inactive for at least a week with no notice, another mod may take over, or you may pretend that person left (after making sure it's ok with a mod)
